Learn More About BRPA
A deeper look at how BRPA supports Business Rescue Practitioners with clarity, structure, and efficiency.
1. What is BRPA?
BRPA is a purpose‑built platform designed to help Business Rescue Practitioners manage Business Rescues. It provides functionality that allows for the management of the full life-cycle of a Rescue.
2. Why BRPA Exists
The platform was conceived from the world-changing appearance of COVID-19. In-person Creditors' meetings were no longer possible, although the requirement to be able to vote on Rescue proposals was still required. It meant that a new method had to be found. While development focused on the on-line voting platform, the need for a fully integrated management platform became apparent. Thus BRPA as a full solution came into existence.
3. Practice Management
As a Practitioner, you are able to set up and customise the platform for you. You can add logos, Practice specific templates, registration email wording, as well as other details.
4. Rescue Management
This is where the strength of the platform resides. A Practitioner can administer a business rescue from start to finish. This includes the initial setting up of the rescue with the Company's details, significant contacts' information, and Company specific data.
5. Creditor Management
All Creditor information can be stored on the platform. They can initially be bulk loaded to the rescue, with all the available information attached.
Creditor management is a large focus of the platform. For an individual creditor, aside from the 'standard' information stored, it is possible to track claim status, claim amounts, store documents received (confirmation of bank details, certified invoices, supporting documents etc.). Creditors can, themselves, download personalised any forms they may need to complete, for example Claim Affidavits. They are responsible for their own management of users and voters - that have limited access to update the creditor's' details.
6. Voting
Voting was the initial reason for the platform, and as such, is a large component of it. As a Rescue Practitioner you are able to create meetings; these can be set up to be opened and closed at any specific date or time. Agendas can be posted and mailed ahead of time to the creditors.
Once a meeting has been set up, the Practitioner can add any number of proposals to it. For each proposal, possible answers can be set up; from simple yes/no votes to those that are more complex. Should any items come up in the meeting that require a vote, proposals can be added on the fly, ready to be voted on immediately.
The proposals allow Practitioners to add proxy voting, where a Creditor may allow another Creditor to vote for him, or he can pass his vote to the Chairman of the meeting.
All votes are recorded on the system. Should a creditor change his mind and vote again, only the latest vote will count on the system, but thre previous ones will still be recorded.
Votes are weighted according to the 'voting interest' amount. The outcome of the vote is calculated based on this.
7. Auditing and Reporting of Voting
As the voting takes place, the Practitioner can view the results of the vote in real-time by the Practitioner. When the meeting is closed, no more voting can happen.
All Votes are recorded and stored. The data stored includes, who voted (creditor name email), the meeting, the proposal, the answer, the date and time, and the IP address of the voter. Practitioners are able to view and download the voting history of a meeting in a spreadsheet or PDF as a record.
7. Other Reporting
The patform allows Practitioners to download lists of creditors, rescues, voting history.
It also provides access to a full Audit Trail of actions performed under your Practice. Rescues, creditors and users added, any changes made to them, emails sent, details of every login, documents up- or down-loaded etc. This is vital to ensure good governance and to provide details for any investigation.
To ensure no loss of data, any 'deleted' records are not truly deleted from the system, but only marked as inactive. As a Practitioner you can re-activate these records as needed. This makes sure that any auditing requirements will be satisfied.
7. Designed for Practitioners by Practitioners
BRPA is built with direct input from practitioners, ensuring the platform aligns with real‑world workflows and challenges.
